Chudadi (Big 2)
This game is very popular in East Asia and South East Asia, where it originated. This is especially popular in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan. It is played both casually and as a gambling game. It is usually played with two to four players but here in DafaGames, this game will be played with strictly four (4) players. The objective of the game is to be the first to get rid of all of your cards.
Card Rankings
The game uses the standard 52-deck card without the Jokers.
Here in Big 2, suits are important along with the card rankings. The following shows the suit rankings:

How the Game Is Played
The player holding the 3 of Diamonds (3 is the lowest card rank and Diamond is the lowest card suit), begins the game by putting this card down. The other players try to beat this hand with a stronger card of the same hand. (A Single card can only be beaten by a stronger Single card). If the round continues and the turn again goes back to the player with the winning hand and no one is able to beat him, then the round is over and that player wins.
For example, There are four (4) players in the game. Player 1, 2, 3, and 4. Player 1 starts with a 3♦ then Player 2 beats this hand with a 4♦ (Player 2 now holds the winning hand). Player 3 passes (meaning he does not play a hand) and Player 4 beats Player 2 with 5♣ (Player 4 now holds the winning hand). Then Player 1 passes, so does Player 2 and 3 and it is now Player 4’s turn again. Since no one was able to beat his hand of 5♣ then he is declared the winner and a new round begins.
Scoring
The winnings of a player is the number of “points” he accumulates and is equivalent to a certain amount of money. In a normal game of Big 2, the point system is determined by the players, depending on the amount and currency they decide to use. But in DafaGames, the point equivalents are already set per table.
The game ends when there is a player who uses up all his cards. So when a winner is finally declared, all the players compare their remaining cards. The players get one (1) point for every player he beats and loses one (1) point for every player who beats him.
For example,
Player A – 3 cards |
|
Player D - 4 cards
|
Player B - 0 cards (winner)
|
|
Player C - 1 card
|
In computing for the number of points that a player wins, let’s first compute from Player B’s point of view.
Player B wins over all three (3) players and collects three (3) points from Player A, four (4) points from Played D, and one (1) point from Player C. That’s a total of eight (8) points. The points are based on the number of cards that the other three (3) players still hold.
Player A, on the other hand, loses to Player B and C because A has more cards than they do and wins over Player D. The number of points won or lost is based on the difference of the number of cards that the players still hold. So Player A has to give three (3) points to Player B, two (2) points to Player C, and gets one (1) point from Player D. Adding up the number of points lost and won, Player A loses four (4) points.
Below is the summary of points won or lost in the sample scenario given above.
